CLOCKS:
Cuttysark is proud to offer new ship's bells clocks from Chelsea and Weems & Plath.  We also always carry a nice selection of "previously owned" ship's clocks, some as sets with matching barometers.  When we note the clock has "ship's bells", we mean a chime system based on the traditional way ships used to alert the crew of the time relating to the four-hour watch system.  Eight bells sound at 12, 4, and 8, the start and stop of the ship's watch system.  At 12:30, 4:30, and 8:30 one chime is sounded, adding a chime each half hour until making the next watch.  Usually the ship's bells can be turned off or just not wound.

C 50 This Chelsea Mariner Clock is one of Chelsea's very best mantle clocks. A 4 1/2 inch, hand etched brass then silvered dial, brass and bronze ship's wheel and a mahogany base combines to make a very beautiful timepiece.

The Ship's Bell clock is Chelsea's signature timepiece.  The Mariner was first produced by Chelsea in 1911 and clock's original balance wheel movement is unchanged from the time they started making them over 100 years ago.  These clocks are so great that they have been given by President's to key visiting heads of state.

The Chelsea Mariner Clock's Retail Price is $1995
The Mariner stands 13 1/2 inches tall, 10 inches long and 4 1/2 inches wide.
