United States Navy "Big Eyes"
Built for the United States Navy and used from the mid 1950's to 1970's, these ship's binoculars have a one to twelve mile viewing range. This particular pair includes the very rare, mid bronze stand which was only used during that twenty year period. The U.S. Navy "Big Eyes" have been fully restored and cleaned to bring them back to the way the Navy first received them, with the exception of the polished and lacquered mid bronze section, originally painted "Navy Gray".
The "Big Eyes" move up and down on a crank within the stand and rotate a full 360 degrees The rubber eye shades are also included but not shown. The binoculars and stand weigh 280 lbs and have to be crated for shipping.
